Conditioning the week of a dual against magnolia

Our dual was on a Wednesday so the following Monday we all had to take practice serious. We started off practice with practicing our take downs and break downs over and over again until we would get it right , and after that we would work on reversing bottom positions and trying new things that works out better for us. After that we went straight to getting  our water break and to live wrestling iron man which is 3 people in a group and each person has to go 6 rounds with a break and then the next person goes the other 6 rounds and so on. After live wrestling we started conditioning and running around the room and sprinting with the heater on and the doors closed and after a warm up we do line drills with partners back to back. And then on Tuesday we practice any movies we want to work on from any position that way we could be prepared and know what the worst income will be.

Conditioning the week of a tournament

A week before a tournaments we have a week of hell practicing harder and for a longer amount of time. We usually take it more serious because if one falls to do the workout we all repeat it as a team. We live wrestle with more teammates and for a longer time and sometimes we have to iron man wrestle which means 4 people in a group and each person goes a couple rounds with the others in the group. After that we usually do line drills to condition ourselves and to help us not gas out soon in a match. Line drills can last from 20 minutes to a full hour just depending on how the team is doing and how quick we do it in. We usually have to repeat a couple of exercises because some guys/girls on the team get caught cheating or don't finish in time. So far i think we can say that our school has the best condition but we have much to step it up.

Tournaments & Preseason

Our season is only 4 weeks away and we need as much mat time as we can before season so coach has his varsity wrestlers go to tournaments on Saturdays to go out there and figure out what we need to work on still and perfect it as much as we can while we still have time. On the last two tournaments we've been doing good some of our wrestlers have placed either 1st , 2nd or 3rd and others have been notified what they need to work on and go over it. We started practicing more longer and working our asses of more and starving our self Friday nights but its all been worth it the results we get in our bodys and matches have been rewarded for how much hard work we put in at practice. Our goal is to have everything we struggle with a piece of cake by the time season starts.

Wrestling Conditioning

Since were getting closer to season in November were making practice longer. We practice our moves , tilts , chicken wings , breakdowns, and take downs. After that we do live wrestling for a good minute usually everyday we do it for a longer period and then the lower levels go home and the varsity squad does line drills from sprints to all kind of crazy drills coach Gaze has in mind. If any of the fellow wrestlers doesn't complete the drill all the way we start it all over and usually there's someone who doesn't get it together and makes the whole team redo all the drills. If were close to a tournament we usually do live wrestling , line drills and tire flips out in the softball field just to bust our asses of more then usual and be ready for the tournaments. We usually starve our selfs the nights before our tournaments to make weight for the weigh ins and then eat after that .

9/28/13
Week 1
This week i worked on organizing my project and figuring out what is it that i'm going to do and need for my project. I'm going to need a camera to be able to record all the footage of wrestling. I also needed to find someone who was going to record and explain the moves before doing them. I needed to confirm with my coach if its okay with me doing my English project in class and using the wrestling room to record. I also worked on some wrestling drills and take downs and break downs and a couple of tilt series and chicken wing series. Practice is getting more intense and difficult because as we get close to Halloween we get closer and closer to a tournament in Las Vegas for those in Varsity that fit there weight and are working hard for it, I'm hoping to to be prepared and ready to experience something new.
